The whole rules thing reminds me a lo...Nicely said. The whole rules thing reminds me a lot of the issues I run into when trying to teach my students about the scientific method. I go over the general things an ideal experiment would contain and then have them examine real experiments in order to determine what you can and cannot conclude from their results. A lot of them end up nit picking things to death rather than coming away with the big picture.<br /><br />There's a tendency for people to lose the forest for the trees when they're new to something--i.e. get so "rules" focused that they forget that the rules are there for a reason but that human endeavors are inevitably nuanced and contextual.E.L.
